The Huawei NetEngine AR720 is a high-performance enterprise router designed for small and medium-sized businesses, branch offices, educational institutions, retail stores, financial organizations, and enterprise campus networks. It combines high-speed routing, integrated security, VPN services, and WAN connectivity in a compact 1U platform, making it an ideal gateway for modern enterprise networks.
The router features 2 Gigabit Combo WAN ports, 8 Gigabit LAN ports (which can also be configured as WAN ports), 2 USB 2.0 ports, and 2 SIC (Smart Interface Card) slots for flexible expansion. The modular design allows businesses to add interfaces such as 4G LTE, 5G, DSL, serial, or additional WAN modules as network requirements grow.
Powered by Huawei’s VRP (Versatile Routing Platform) operating system, the AR720 supports enterprise routing protocols, advanced VPN technologies, intelligent traffic management, firewall capabilities, NAT, IPv4/IPv6, QoS, and comprehensive security features. It is suitable for SD-WAN deployments, branch interconnection, Internet access, and secure remote office connectivity.
The router supports centralized management through Huawei eSight, Web GUI, CLI, SNMP, and cloud-based management tools, simplifying deployment, monitoring, and maintenance. With forwarding performance of up to 25 Mpps, support for approximately 700 connected terminals, and a durable rack-mount chassis, the AR720 provides reliable performance for demanding enterprise environments.
